At LexisNexis, one of our primary missions is advancing the Rule of Law around the world. This year, some of our most inspiring accomplishments were focused on that mission and it’s a privilege to engage in this mission together with our people, valued customers, as well as industry organizations, NGOs, and the United Nations.

Here are a few examples of this work:

  • 2019 marked the launch of the LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation to advance all components of the rule of law, help build legal infrastructures and solve deep-rooted legal challenges.
  • Together with local courts, government, financial, and health organizations, our team ventured into the jungles of Borneo as part of a Malaysian mobile court, which handled 220 cases for some of the country’s most vulnerable citizens.
  • LexisNexis received a Global Leadership Award from the United Nations Foundation for its work in strengthening equality under the law, transparency of law, independent judiciaries, and accessible legal remedy.
  • We proudly developed and launched an online and simplified application form, called the  PIP Form, for individuals in the UK seeking welfare benefits due to illness.
  • Law360 delivered Access to Justice, a free weekly newsletter that examines efforts of legal aid organizations, pro bono programs and difference makers to close the justice gap and help people with the fewest resources gain much-needed access to courts.
  • In Sierra Leone, our team digitized the only set of law books available for legal aid workers, enabling 24/7 access to those laws and helping lawyers triple their caseloads.

But there's so much more to be done, and in 2020 LexisNexis looks forward to continuing this work at home and abroad with our partners.
