The presidential elections are all over the news. From CNN to FOX, it’s hard to avoid coverage of the presidential races, and even the personal details about each candidate. While, we may feel like we know a lot about the more well-known candidates, there are always those random facts.

Check out these little-known facts about some of this year’s presidential candidates.

  1. Ben Carson became the director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins at age 33.
  2. Bernie Sanders is an Accomplished Folk Musician.
  3. While serving as the U.S. attorney for New Jersey, Chris Christie prosecuted over 130 public officials for corruption.
  4. Donald Trump purchased the New Jersey Generals of the United States Football League in 1983, which he unsuccessfully tried to merge with the National Football League. The USFL soon folded. 
  5. Hilary Clinton won a Grammy. The 1996 award for Best Spoken Word Album went to one Hillary Clinton for the audio version of her book, It Takes A Village. Presumably, she credited her success to the disembodied voice of Eleanor Roosevelt.
  6. The NFL wanted Jeb Bush to become the league’s commissioner.
  7. John Kasich describes himself as the "chief architect" of the Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
  8. Marco Rubio has taught Florida International University's School of International and Public Affairs since 2008.
  9. Ted Cruz’s favorite movie is “The Princess Bride.”
