We all have experienced that jolt of happiness found when we are flipping channels and stumble upon a favorite movie/TV show from years ago. Our first action is recalling what other show(s) a certain actor/actress was in and if they have been “off the grid”, tell ourselves “I wonder what are they are up to” In an article by vocative, they shined light on former child-stars and their current unlikely post-Hollywood careers. Three of the listed stars, however, found themselves going from being represented to representing others (or teaching others to represent) with careers in legal profession.
Jeff Cohen - (Entertainment Lawyer)
Best known for his part as “Chunk” (and his Truffle Shuffle) in 1985’s “The Goonies”, Cohen graduated from University of California- Berkeley with a B.S. in Business. After graduating he stayed in California and attended UCLA’s law school, where he graduated from in 2000 where he became an Entertainment Lawyer. In 2002, he co-founded the Cohen & Gardner law firm in Beverly Hills.
Josh Saviano - (Intellectual Property Lawyer)
Well known for his role as “Paul Pfeiffer” on the TV show “The Wonder Years”, Saviano graduated from Benjamin N. Cardozo law school. He currently is a lawyer at Morrison Cohen LP where he represents corporations and “celebrity personalities”.
Charlie Korsmo - (Law Professor)
Korsmo, who’s well-known for his part as “Jack Banning” in 1991’s “Hook”, graduated with a physics degree from M.I.T in 2000. He would receive a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School in 2006 and pass the New York Bar in 2007. Once a visiting professor at Brooklyn Law School, he now serves as a professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio.
Lara Jill Miller - (Lawyer)
Miller, best known for her role as “Sam Kanisky” on the 1980’s TV show “Gimme A Break!”, graduated from Fordham University School of Law in 1991. She later got her bar association license to practice in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. After practicing law briefly she returned to Hollywood where she now is a voiceover actress for numerous shows.
