Lexis Practice Advisor: How-To Browse & Search

Let’s take a look at Lexis Practice Advisor’s powerful Browse and Search tools. Once you have signed in to Lexis Practice Advisor, you are ready to locate the information relevant to the transaction at hand. To start, you should select a sub-topic. This can be done in two ways.


  1. To first way is to use the Search Tool (highlighted below in yellow). The Search Tool allows you to perform a general search by typing in key terms.


2. As you type, the word wheel, intuitively begins displaying the most logical content based on your entry.

3. You can further refine your search to be as narrow or expansive as you need by selecting relevant filters such as Category Types or Topics (highlighted below in blue).

4. Or, you may choose to simply Browse the Table of Contents to the left of your screen, which is organized for you by key topics and sub-topics (highlighted below in yellow).  

5. Once you have made a selection you will be taken to the Snapshot section. (yellow) You are also given options to view all the content by Forms (purple), Practice Notes (green), Cases (pink), Statutes & Legislation (orange), Secondary Materials (red) and Emerging Issues (blue).
