If you have recently asked yourself the question about how to track and monitor developments using Lexis Advance®, the answer is as easy as 1-2-3. With our FREE alert feature on Lexis Advance, you can monitor ANYTHING with an Alert – statutes, issues in case law, newspapers, trade journals, opinions written by a particular judge – the possibilities are almost unlimited.

And be sure to check out our FREE Shepard’s Alerts – monitor your case for changes in treatment. With Alerts, you save time, money and are the FIRST to know about important changes in the law.

  1. To set up an alert, in the red search box enter the content or cite that you would like to monitor: (ex:  2014 HR 4061)

  2. Simply click on the Alert “bell” icon

and monitor your options: For example, you can be alerted for just specific activities (Introduced, amended, vetoed, enacted, etc.)

  3. Next, choose your delivery method - select either “Online Only” or select “Email + Online” to change your delivery options and have your results delivered via email.

Helpful Tip: By selecting “Email + Online” you are able to customize you’re the delivery format and the time of day you will receive the notifications

  4. Finally, save the alert by clicking “Create Alert”

And your alert will appear on your home screen within the ‘Alerts’ module.
