Happiness… A general state of being most people (if not all) should want to achieve; however, it is often difficult to stay ‘happy’ throughout the day, if at all. With the increasing demands of work/life and trying to achieve a ‘balance’ how can one even get to a point of happiness? It has been proven that a couple of little reminders throughout the day can greatly impact one’s level of happiness, as featured in an article via Time.

No matter where you work, keep a couple of post-it notes somewhere in your work space where you can constantly look up and be reminded by them. Time recommends 5 specific post-it notes:

  1. Happiness – Write 3 things you are thankful for
  2. Confidence – Write 3 accomplishments you are proud of
  3. Optimism – Write down something you are looking forward to
  4. Meaning in Life – Write your favorite happy memory
  5. Success – Write the name of a hero you admire

That’s it. Five post-it notes, which will take no longer than five minutes to make. Do yourself a favor and  make them because the  little things in your life that you look forward to can make you a much happier person. And, just to give you some inspiration – these are the post-its I have on my wall:

“Life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it.”

“Don’t watch the clock – do what it does and keep going.”

“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.”

What are some of your favorite quotes that you would like to share?

Another idea is having this close to your to-do list, because every time you glance at your to-do list, you will see these post-its as well. On a daily basis, you can even find a motivational quote and have it put in the range of view, to keep yourself motivated!
