With the exception of a few national holidays, American workers generally get 2 to 3 weeks out of the whole year which is much less than what people in many other countries receive. According to the article, Why is America the 'no-vacation nation'?  via CNN.com, the global running joke about American workers’ vacation “just means they work from somewhere else.”

"Americans work like robots, whereas employees in other nations (primarily European nations) work very hard, but then they take their holiday and really relax...  It's more than just making money, it's about having time for your family and it's about having time to wind down."

According to the article, Americans maximize their... [happiness] by working, and Europeans maximize their [happiness] through leisure.

Do you think that is really the case? Why?
